About Greg Moore
I was born in Gross Pointe, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. I was like most kids in this part of the country in that I learned how to play hockey at 5 years old. I still love hockey and play with an adult league as much as I can. My body aches a lot more now after playing, but it is all worth it!
The summers were for boating and water skiing with family and friends on Lake St Clair. In high school I worked for my dad in his auto part’s manufacturing business. Being so close to Detroit, auto parts manufacturing was common business in those days. I have always loved to travel. As a kid I would always look up at the contrails of the jets and wonder what else is out there in the world. In the summers during high school my dad would take me along on some of his business trips. This was a great memory of spending time with my dad.
My freshman year of college was at Michigan State. However, I felt the “call of the west” and transferred to Arizona State University. The climate of Arizona was distinctly different than Michigan. I found out why they are called the Sun Devils! I got a degree in Corporate Finance and a minor in Real Estate. Finance is an area that has been a lifelong trait and I thoroughly enjoy. While in college a friend introduced me to Real Estate, and I was very intrigued by the multi-faceted aspect and how I can use my skills of finance.
Following college, I went back to Michigan, got my real estate license, and worked with a developer in creating a new subdivision. I also worked in property management and built custom homes in Ann Arbor. Following this I spent a year in Edmond, Oklahoma where I was a project manager in the acquisition and renovation of a 100-unit multi-family property.
In 1994 I moved back to the Phoenix area and had my own consulting company specializing in pre-development entitlement services. I enjoy all aspects of the development process. I am very analytical and pay attention to every detail.
While in Phoenix I met my wife and we were ready to start our family. In 2002 we moved to California and I got my Broker’s license in the state. My wife is an Interior Designer and we opened Willis and Bennett in the Village of Arroyo Grande. I work with my wife in this business. We specialize in importing one-of-a-kind home furnishings for our store. I enjoy the opportunity to travel with my wife in Asia and Europe to find the many home furnishings that our very selective customers have come to enjoy. My wife is the creative mind and I am the logistics mind in managing the shipping, customs, and all aspects of making sure these furnishings make it to our store in one piece. Recently, my wife and I re-evaluated our business and moved from the storefront to the storage room a block away in the east side of the village. This allows us to be open a few days out of the week for our select customers and gives us more time to be available to home school our two children. This change has allowed me to get back to doing one of my passions which is Real Estate. I enjoy being available to my friends and family for their residential real estate needs. I am also excited about all aspects of Commercial Real Estate. My background in property management, finance, development, and entitlements gives me an understanding of the processes and challenges of Commercial Real Estate. My analytical mind and attention to detail is an asset as there are so many moving parts to a transaction that any oversight can be a costly mistake. My diverse experience provides the opportunity for me to view my clients’ interests from a macro view and distilling it down to the core requirements. Once involved in a project, I thrive on the certainty of challenges and then finding the creative effective solutions for my clients.
I enjoy living in, and raising my family on, the Central Coast. As a Commercial Realtor I enjoy covering the entire state to find the best opportunity for my clients. As a member of the Keller Williams Commercial division I have exposure to the other couple thousand Commercial specific agents that work together in exposing each other’s properties and constantly doing education and training to be the best for our clients.
As the Commercial Division Director of The SHAWN Team I am excited about being part of the Full-Service Team aspect and working collaboratively with the growing number of professional agents on the team.
